Last Monday morning I was feeling off, a bit achy and tired. I went for a run thinking it would loosen me up and I would feel better. Didn't happen. By the time I arrived home after class, it was full on body aches, chills, exhaustion. Of course the timing was terrible, but when is it ever a good time to get sick? I had an important meeting Tuesday and new clients to work with this week. But I know that rest is always what I need when I'm sick, and technology is such a gift. I was able take my meeting lying down with my eye pillow on and handled my new clients by phone. I rested a ton. And even though I was feeling much better on Saturday, I spent much of the day lying down looking out the window. It was very peaceful and restful.

I'm happy to say that not only am I feeling much better, I received an unexpected benefit... the  nagging muscle soreness I have been experiencing in my glute and hamstring is gone as is my neck and back tension. I think that I really needed a week of rest! Even though this means that I missed a week of training, I think I may be better for it since my body feels so much more relaxed and healthy. You never know what a shift in your routine or unexpected down time may bring.

I feel reset and refreshed and though I missed writing and felt like coming back a bit sooner, I decided to give myself a full week away to mentally rest as well.
